MYSQL Database Setup

Post by fireman1374 »

I am fairly new to MYSQL. OK, I have no idea what I'm doing, lol.

I have installed MYSQL and it is running properly on windows, I want to use TransTRBO with MYSQL for GPS reasons.

I have used MYSQL workbench, but I really have no idea if or how to setup the database. I did real the TransTRBO documentation about MYSQL, but I'm just not sure what to do. All I know currently, is that whatever I am doing is not working.

I'm using TransTRBO 0.1.1.7 and MYSQL 5.7.11.10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark,

I use HeidiSQL available here:
http://www.heidisql.com/

When you created MySQL you will have a :-
Username: root (usually)
Password: <your_password>

NB: #1, #2 and #3 refer to screen shot below ...
  1. Connect to the Base Station Radio
  2. Select Configuration from the Toolbar
  3. Select Database Settings page - #1
  4. Select MySQL - GPS Logging - #2
  5. Leave Database Prefix as the default
  6. Leave Net Address as the default
  7. Leave Port as the default
  8. Enter the MySQL Username (default is usually root)
  9. Enter the MySQL Password
  10. Radio Serial - should automatically be here - leave it alone
  11. Press the Test button #3
  12. A response of "MySQL OK" should appear in the box under the Test button
  13. Hit the OK button
  14. Disconnect from the Radio
  15. Reconnect to the Radio

Hopefully it should work ...
(If not - you may have to create a new database using the Work bench/HeidiSQL the name must be the Database Prefix with the entire Radio Serial in my case transtrbo_038tmc4558)
