Settings for units in service or radio check

Post by PSummerhawk »

Morning,
Been trying to find out of I have settings wrong. Each time I try to right click a radio and go to Radio Check it times out. Is there a setting that needs to be corrected on the program? Not sure if t=its not having ARS turned on or what. Also been trying to send a text message between two units and the text never shows up on the other radio. This I am thinking might also be a setting as well.

Any help would be great to get this figured out.

Hi Peter,

"Radio Check" and those other Remote functions are basic Motorola "Radio Command & Control" (RCC) functions.
I think they must be enabled (via CPS) on the remote radio - for them to work.
Read the built-in Help File information - that Help file was written at the same time that I wrote the original RCC functions. It should explain "Login Permissions" to gain access to TransTRBO features.

Text Messaging must also be enabled on the Remote radio - Note it uses Motorola's "Digital Services" which are not basic Radio control functions.

Radio Command & Control
incorporates Local radio command and control
  1. Zone/Channel Read/Write
  2. Radio Volume Read write
  3. Call initiation
  4. PTT functions
incorporates Remote radio control, Call Progress Notifications
  1. Check Remote radio
  2. Enable Remote radio
  3. Monitor Remote radio
  4. etc
Digital Services
incorporates the 4 x services/Protocols
  1. GPS - /V\ LRRP protocol
  2. Text Messaging - /V\ TMS protocol
  3. ARS - /V\ ARS protocol
  4. Telemetry - /V\ Telemetry protocol (not implemented)
That's a start ..

cheers
