Finally getting around to migrating off simplex and deploying a TRBO repeater for the church camp. We currently have 25 radios (6350,6550,4350), and would like to have the repeater do the heavy lifting instead of another control station. GPS updates are important so we can see staff as they move around with the kids during different activities.
Is there any interest in deploying TransTRBO in this type of environment?

Hi Sifter,
I haven't gotten around to writing any Repeater based software as yet.
The Control station radio does work in a "Repeater" environment.
cheers

Do you have any cliff notes that I could look at? TS1 is voice only, and I have purposely left TS2 alone for data/gps. Only looking for gps data every 5-7 minutes.

Hehe just any notes/pointers you might have. I guess what Im after is how to dedicate a specific time slot to only data/gps, and have voice on its own. Since the xpr8400 has two talk paths, this should be double.
Capacity Plus, which this repeater does not have, allows one to define a specific data channel. But Im not seeing how this is done in conventional mode.

Sifter,
Have you solved your time slot issue or do you need more advice? I know a decent amount about splitting up the data and voice between different time slots.
